Paula was born in Wichita, Kansas and was raised there until moving to Washington State later in her childhood.
She spent parts of her life in Oregon, Washington and Chicago, Illinois enjoying a life of travel and business not knowing that she would one day be the wife and partner to a rancher.
She met, married and loved a Cowboy, Jack Shemer, until his recent passing in 2020.
They split time between Phoenix, AZ and their Ranch in Nye, MT. After Jack’s passing, Paula felt the urge to return full time to Nye to continue their dream of ranching in Montana where she resides today.
Her long history in Arizona continues as a partner in Arrow H Performance Horses, where Paula acts as a purchase partner, and lends an eye to the kind of horses Arrow H is looking to finish.
Her years of experience in the daily demands of a ranch and equine competition adds to the group of young ladies dedicated to the art of care, training, and competition.
Ms. Shemer brings a sense of wisdom that only comes with years of horse experience.
